At one time or another, everyone seeks out a new recipe. So, why not upload your recipe and draw new visitors to your website and ideally, your bed and breakfast too?
Showcasing your best meals or snacks can bring a lot of traffic your way. It can also land you in mainstream news articles. Not to mention, it's a great way to create content once for a blog or Facebook post and reuse it in different ways. You could even tweet your recipe, if you had the patience to whittle it down to 280-characters or less, like the book Eat Tweet famously did, back when the Twitter limit was even lower... 140-characters.
Here are some websites that are welcoming of recipes. Each has its own set of criteria to follow:
Yumly: In addition to letting you submit your recipe to Yumly. Consider filling out this form for the site to consider it for a feature. Yumly can seem a bit tricky at first. Check out this great tutorial from food blogger: Green Smoothie Gourmet.
Also, consider submitting to sites, even if they're more selective and there's no guarantee your recipe will be featured. Since you'll already have the recipe, you could reap large rewards, in terms of exposure, if your recipe is chosen: Bon Appetit, CookingLight, Taste of Home, etc.
