‘Get Together’ at the PAII Conference this March

Innkeepers are expected to travel from across the globe to the yearly innkeeping conference held by the Professional Association of Innkeeping International, affectionately known as PAII

This year the conference will be held in St. Charles, Missouri, just outside of St. Louis; from Sunday, March 26 through Wednesday, March 29, 2017. The Saint Charles Convention Center (with the attached Embassy Suites Hotel) will be the gathering spot. The location is rather ideal and within a 6-hour drive of nine states. It’s also about a 15-minute ride from the Lambert St. Louis International Airport, which services most major airlines with direct daily flights.

Every year there’s a theme. This year it’s all about what innkeepers can ‘get’ out of the experience.

Here are some of the items on the agenda:

GET SMART – Integration of smart products into your inn
GET UNPLUGGED – Yurts, outdoor living, incorporating back to basic retreats to your inn
GET IT TOGETHER – What needs to be in place to protect yourself, legally, insurance policies, building codes, upgrades, etc.
GET COOKING – all things food related, sanitation, menu design, recipes, food costing
GET SOCIAL – working your way into the social media circus and how to manage it once you’re there
GET ORGANIZED – Financials, Taxes, PMS, Human Resources, How to take your own vacation
GET NOTICED – Marketing, advertising and more marketing
GET HOOKED – Weddings, planning and catering

Aside from the learning track, there’s also a lot of laughter, mingling, and music. The 2017 dinner gala will feature the St. Louis Big Band Orchestra.

If you’re planning to attend, make sure to catch our Bed & Brunch PR hands-on public relations workshop to find out what you can do to get your bed and breakfast mentioned in newspapers, TV segments, magazines, and online media. We'll be speaking there on March 28th. If you’d like to email us in advance we’re happy to review your property so we're prepared to chat with you in person for a few minutes and share an idea or two.
